Adapted for radio & presented live onstage!

For the past three years Nash Theatre has been presenting productions of well known films adapted in the 1930s, 40s & 50s for radio audiences in a time when radio was king. These performances, complete with live sound effects and with a cast onstage in evening dress have proved so popular that we’re doing it again!

This time it’s everybody’s favourite musical play The Wizard of Oz. The play is based on the well-loved novel by Frank L Baum. All the favourite characters will be there - Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion; the magnificent Oz; Glinda the Good Witch and of course, the Wicked Witch of the West. It will be presented in traditional radio play format, with live sound effects and live music played by Margit Hubbers and this time the cast will be singing. We hope that you’ll stay at the end of the performance to sing your favourite songs from the show along with the cast.

The production is directed by June A Balfour, who has passed the important job of sound effects creator to Peter Crees. June is assisted by Barbara Thomas. The talented cast features Chelsea Allen, Jenny Bonney-Millett, Leander Bruford, Gary Kliger, Trevor J McMillan, Nigel Munro-Wallis, Sheila Oliver & last but by no means least Andrew Whitmore as Toto!

Put on your ruby slippers & join us on the yellow brick road! It promises to be fun!
