It all begins when charming country bachelor Jack Worthing invents an intriguing younger brother, Ernest who lives in Albany and has a knack for getting himself into trouble.

Ernest finds himself engaged to two very different women and when Jack's close friend Algernon Moncrieff learns of the truth he decides to add a little mischief and "bunburying" of his own!
